The selection of plants that we have in stock will vary with the time of year. Natives are very site specific where they grow best. Please choose the correct soil type and sun type for them to grow their best. The best part of natives is that they don’t need any special fertilizer to grow. Most of the plants are perennial, which means they come up every year. The perennials develop deep roots, hold moisture better and need no special watering. Plants range from one to three years. First year plants don’t flower the first year, they develop a good root system. Remember the saying “Natives sleep, creep and then leap.”

The biennial plants like Lobelia Cardinalis and Campanula Americana  are second year plants that will bloom this year only.

The plants have been grown from seeds collected from plant rescues, shared from knowledgeable friends and commercial nurseries such as Natural Gardens and Prairie Moon.
